Beneath the Surface

Beneath the Surface collection explores emotions through the visual language of volcanic landscapes and satellite imagery. Each piece represents a different stage of an emotional process: from quiet tension and internal pressure to rupture, release and eventual stillness - using geological forms as metaphors for experiences that are often invisible. Created in p5.js, the works combine layered structures, procedural distortion and restrained red accents to resemble fictional remote-sensing scans of an inner landscape. Rather than illustrating specific emotions, the collection invites viewers to recognize their own emotional terrains and reflect on what lies beneath the surface.

gela.js (Angelika Grzegorczyk) is a generative artist from Poland whose practice explores the intersection of code, motion, and experimentation. Working primarily with p5.js, she creates digital artworks in which simple systems evolve into complex and unexpected visual forms. Her work is driven by the interplay between structure and chance, allowing carefully designed algorithms to produce unpredictable outcomes. She is particularly interested in the balance between control and randomness, embracing emergence as a creative process that results in works that are both intentional and surprising.

Every purchase funds the artist's next creative exploration.
